No. 3 (2): Enero - Junio de 2024

Clavius Journal was established in 2023 as an initiative of the Institute for Research in Natural Sciences and Technology (IARNA) and the Faculty of Environmental and Agricultural Sciences (FCAA) at Rafael Landívar University (URL). This academic platform aims to disseminate scientifically grounded and critical research focused on deepening the understanding and reconfiguration of interactions between society and nature, with the goal of conserving, restoring, and managing territories that are resilient and functional for the common good.

This edition presents three articles to its readers. The first, titled “Ecosystem Services in Guatemala: Concepts, Accounting, and Perspectives,” contributes to the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting of Guatemala (SEEA-GT). The second and third articles address issues related to water management and access, titled respectively: “Transformations in Water Access within a Community Undergoing ‘Metropolization’” and “Water Regulation in Guatemala: A Contrast Between the Mayan Conception and the Economic Approach. Preliminary Findings.”
